Chairmans reserve rum-forgotten gasks 70cl 40%

Characteristics Chairman's Reserve Forgotten Casks is one of the most balanced and versatile rums in its class. A premium rum with an extremely interesting history. On May 2, 2007 a major fire broke out at the St. Lucia Distillers distillery in the Roseau Valley, which destroyed part of the premises. Most of the distillery was not damaged, but serious problems arose due to a lack of space for storing casks and ageing the spirits. During the ensuing upheaval Cyril Mangal (Cellar Master) began placing barrels in the most unlikely places in the distillery. Some of these barrels were forgotten, and were rediscovered a few years ago to give us the award-winning rum in the Chairman's range, Forgotten Casks. This is essentially the same blend as the company's trademark rum, Chairman's reserve, aged an additional 4 to 5 years. It comes from the distillation of fermented molasses in a traditional two-column (coffey) still, during which we obtain alcohol from the first and middle levels of the plates (alcohol levels of at least 94%). For this single blended rum we also use the beautiful John Dore no.1 (copper pot still).
